I would never use proxies for grass... I use simple planes with a nice mxm found at
http://resources.maxwellrender.com/sear ... v2=0&tipo=

From forestpack I choose that my planes will always look to the active camera.
Play also with a small size transformation.

Ah cool. I havn't considered using a simple material with displacement. I guess it will be best. The aerial shot will be around 20-30m camera height.
I bought Forest Plugin now and it works so far in my tests with instances. Already lost too many hours with this issue and have to move on.

No, no displacement!!!
Simple plane for forest object, 35X20cm, and the material I show you... Simple clipmaps but with small scale transformation it looks great.
