When rendering a range of frames, I have been closing maxwell.exe and then frantically switching over to Max to hit "cancel" on Max's render progress box. Sometimes I'm not fast enough and it fires up the next frame in maxwell.exe. Just sort of an annoyance...is there a more final way to cancel a multi-frame render?

I always export out the sequence of MXS files, then render the frames using the network wizard. You have more control this way, plus, Max doesn't have to be open while rendering (saves RAM).

Yeah, that's how I've been doing animations lately too. This was mainly just for doing quick 20-frame tests, just to make sure everything looks right before committing to a network render.

Not a big deal though

Also, for quick animation previews in Max, I like to use the Tools > Grab Viewport. It will create an avi of the shaded viewport. Comes in handy for previewing camera movements.
