Hi,
I've tested this in Max 2012

1. Assign a Maxwell Material to empty material slot (A) and copy it.
2. Modify color or other attribute (A_1)
3. paste it another empty material slot. (B)

I copied (A) material before step 2 modify, but pasted material (B) has the same attribute of (A_1) rather than (A).
Is this a new feature or bug ?

Max doesn't actually copy the material parameters when you right click the type button, it just remembers which slot you want to copy. The copy operation actually happens when you select "paste", so you get the modified parameter. This is not Maxwell-specific, you'll see that the same thing happens with standard materials.
