Hi,
I am following advanced surfacing tutorial and as suggested trying to make bitmap on Reflectance 90 brighter but how to do it in LightWave? I believe that I have tried everything, editing tab alone, image clone and editing tab, layer opacity and layer blending modes... whatever I am doing Maxwell is always using original image, I guess it loads it directly from disc... To make situation worse I do not have access from LightWave the plug-in to any of the new Maxwell image controls/adjustments.

Is editing images in Photoshop only way? ...that would take ages.

It's not possible to use image adjustments from Lightwave. Lightwave doesn't have built-in controls for this and we can't extend the Texture Editor to add them. The only solution would be adding another button under each attribute which can be textured in the Maxwell material UI, but that would make the panel very large and cluttered.

But that will save some people loads of work, if textures should be adjusted for additional realism, one more button will not be a big issue, will it? Besides now is impossible to re-create some of the Maxwell materials easily just because of that.

To be honest we have two there E and T already and no one is complaining. :)

PS Thx for quick replies.

I can't put another button on the same line as the E and T buttons (the Lightwave GUI code is pretty dumb), so it would have to be under each attribute. That's 10 more buttons on the BSDF pane, for example, which would make it about 210 pixels taller; it won't even fit on some smaller displays anymore.

That is bad, how abut requesting this SDK feature on NewTek Fog Bugs system? I would report it but have no idea what to ask for, can do follow up email to developers after you do it.

Anyway as developer of important application you might be able to convince them easily to add it do SDK. Would you be so nice and do it?

I believe it is something that should be there, it is new Maxwell feature.
