Hello

I've had the usual problem with a height model again ... :)
Also see threads: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=29783&hilit=terrain
and: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=31739&hilit=terrain

This time, I need a very detailed 3d landscape model. I got all the height lines on the same position as dxf (the dxf file is 500MB). What I need would be a mesh of that terrain.
Patch isn't working with that many lines, nor would it be able to create enough details.
The PointsetReconstrucionTools is able of creating a detailed mesh, but since they are Rhino4 only and the file is so huge, it crashes when I try to use it on larger parts.
I read, that a lot of these tools are implemented into rhino5s grasshopper.
Now if you first extract the points from the height lines, then use the grasshopper delauney command to create the mesh, it still takes a while but in the end I got a pretty good mesh of the terrain.

I don't know if there would be any better or more efficient way to get a detailed model, but I'm quite happy that I finally have found a working solution for terrain models with rhino.

Cheers,
Kami
