Hi,

I have to use Rhino for some tasks and, being new to it, discovered that Rhino has very odd modifier keys for navigating in 3D space. Maxwell, Shot, MOI, Pro/E, Alias, GEM and many other 3D softwares use the ALT key + LMB, MMB and RMB to zoom, pan, dolly, track, etc. - Rhino does not :(

Is there a way to change Rhino's key mapping to the common setup?

Thanks!

I don't think you can change it -- I see some new settings for setting up MMB navigation in Rhino 5. I would ask on the Rhino newsgroup, though, since there could always be some esoteric or undocumented command that might help you do what you want to do.

Thanks JD, you are right! I spent much time searching for a solution, but didn't find one. Maybe I just need to spend a few months with Rhino occasionally to get used to that funny interface. McNeel should allow users to redefine all keys to their liking...

Conversely, there are surely those who would like to be able to make the other apps work like Rhino.

Oh dear, I hope not :)

But, yes, ideally, all 3D engineering and rendering softwares should allow for maximum customisation for those who need it.
