Let's say I have 4 bulbs (represented each by a simple square pointing down), all with a material in MXM mode that links to a 100w emitter material.

Will each individual geometry will emit 100w?

Does it matter if they are grouped or not?

On multilight, when I adjust wattage, is that for each emitter, or for all combined?

And lastly, a simple plane vs a shallow piramid-shape: will both emit the same amount of light, even though it is 4 faces vs 1 face?

Thanks!

Yes, each mesh will emit according to the power defined in its emitter material.

Yes, because faces contained in a common entity (group, component, or document) produce a single mesh, regardless if it is discontinuous. Therefore, when grouped, your four SketchUp faces produce one Maxwell mesh, which will emit 100W. On the other hand, if each face is put in its own group, this will produce four Maxwell meshes, each emitting 100W.

It adjusts the wattage of the emitter material, so it operates independently of the number of objects to which that emitter is assigned.

They will emit the same amount. Keep in mind, though, that if one has greater area than the other, it will appear to be dimmer, since it will have less power per unit of surface area.
