Hey Ben,

Starting to use IES files for some of my lighting. It would be great if there was a way to have a custom Z object that would display the direction of the IES light.

Thanks,

Gary

Hi,

I am very interested in solving this problem as well. what is the optimal geometry to create for an IES emitter, and MORE IMPORTANTLY how to direct it in Form Z?

viewtopic.php?f=97&t=36557

I have had a useful exchange here, but it hasn't solved my question. I made a small sphere, assigned an IES based emitter MXM, then rotated the sphere hoping that the light would rotate its beam as well, but it is still facing downwards...

any luck on your end Gary??

Thanks-

Peter

Hi,

In bonzai3d (and the forthcoming formZ 7) there is an IES light type that I have added. You can point the IES wherever you want, spin it on its axis, view the intensity distribution, etc.
