Hello everybody
I just wanted to ask: Is the Maxwell Render Plugin for ArchiCAD working with ArchiCAD 13?
And also: Is there anything I can not do in the plugin and only in Maxwell Studio?
So, does the Plugin have limitations? Or is anything from applying textures to scaling textures, changing and creating materials to the final rendering possible in ArchiCAD with the Plugin and Maxwell Studio is NOT needed?
Please let me know,
Thanks a lot,
Oliver

Basicly you don't need Maxwell Studio. For "normal" scenarios you launch the rendering directly from Archicad. Even the materials are defined through Archicad.
Some other "special" things must be done in Maxwell Studio.
The latest plugin works perfectly with Archicad 13 (even the 64 bit version).

Hello alemanda
Thanks for the reply!
Well... "special" things... could you be a bit more specific? ;)
Thanks a lot, Oliver

EDIT: Is it possible to do a shift lens rendering directly from ArchiCAD?

Yes. You can set up Shift Lens in the Plugin.

Where you will really find Maxwell Studio useful is adding entourage to your scene. Since importing 3DS into ArchiCAD is a horrible experience and no other 3d formats will import into ArchiCAD. Just try to bring in a tree in 3ds format and you will quickly abandon the approach.

Furthermore, You can take advantage of Instancing these objects (like trees) and get much more efficiency on your renders. Each tree in ArchiCAD will not export as an instance.

My idea is that importing complex 3ds objects into Archicad is a bad experience because of the 2D generation (during the import phase).
I've already suggested Graphisoft to skip this process (the 2D script generation) during import of 3ds objects ...
