Can't export mxs files from SW anymore.
I don't get any error message but nothing is written.
Tried to write it on network as I used to do so far...no luck...
Tried on my local drive C: ....still nothing...
Any idea ?
My config : CPU : Quad Q6600, RAM : 4Go, OS : Vista 32bits, SW version 2008 SP 3.0, Maxwell 1.7 (but I already had the same issue with 1.6)

Open the log window when you export and see what it is doing and what is going wrong. There is a lot more information there and should help you narrow down the problem.
I don't have the plugin installed right now so I can't tell you the exact menu option - but it is on the Maxwell menu.

Thanks for the tip Mark.
I just uninstalled and re-installed Maxwell and the plug-in and everything came back to normal. Next time I'll have a look at the log if the problem occurs again.

The problem came back and here is what the log says :
Quote:
* line 81: Scene::EndWriteMxs(String^ Path), _error, The Scene was not successfully written, due to an internal Maxwell error.
The specified MxsOutputPath was: \\Synthetiseur\Fichiers Maxwell\Studio C2 H2O Coupe.mxs
The specified ImageOutputPath was: \\Synthetiseur\Rendu Maxwell\Studio C2 H2O Coupe.tif
* line 82: OnEndWriteMxs, _notify, EndWriteMxs returned: False

Not very helpful :(

Well, it's not very helpful to me either, you know - the plugin reports that because it simply does not know the reason. So let's try to figure it out...

- is this a .sldprt or a .sldasm?
- I see you're writing files to a relative path, have you tried setting it to something absolute, just to see if there is a difference?
- what if you try rendering a different camera?
- what are the values of the plugin options: Export Spot-lights, Export Point-lights, Export Absolute Coords, Export Duplicate Bodies as Instances, Export SW Multi-Materials, Only Export Active Camera

Also, if you can send me a SW file where this happens, that would be really helpful.

JD

Here is what I do before each time it happened :
- Export an assembly as mxs (with success)
- Save a copy of the assembly with a new name
- Remove a few parts
- Add a few parts
- Change output files names
- Export to mxs without success

If I quit SW, run it again, open the modified assembly, change output files names again, then I can export mxs file.

I hope this will help.

NB : I don't do anything else than exporting with the plug-in in SW...I do the settings and I apply materials in Studio.

It looks like you are writing to a network share using a UNC path. That may not be supported, or perhaps you need to authenticate to use that share. I am not sure - I have never tried it myself. You could try changing the path to a local drive to see if it works. If so - try mapping that UNC path to your shared drive to a drive letter (assuming you are on Windows).

Mark.

Thanks for the idea Mark but the clue is somewhere else.
I always used this path without problem.
This time, when I could not get my mxs written, I tried to write it to my local drive C:, but it did not work better.
