Current (1.7) version is 13% faster than Windows version in benchmark.com scene and it's known as the fastest Linux version of Maxwell up to date.

I agree, i got 280'ish with gentoo linux even in full render window vs mid 250's with command line render in vista business 64 with most extra services disabled.

now if only studio would work in linux for me just as mxcl does...

and while i'm on it, i discovered that maxwell is case sensitive, which is a problem in linux. Trying to load the simbal scene i got an error that it could not find SphericalPanorama.mxi when the file was where it should have been, just in lowercase.

In my Gentoo box, it is faster than Windows by 10%.
But in Fedora, it is far too slow. What's the problem?
