Family: Girlfriend
Worked with 3d: since 1992
Worked with Photorealism: Pfff since FPrime I think (www.worley.com)
Why: I worked as a programmer late 80's and hated the dull screens of the PC and the software in those days. Worked with dBaseIII+ and tried to add graphics and colours in that software. At home I had a C64 - Amiga. When they fired me my hobby animating with DeluxePaint and Imagine3D became my hobby and later my work. No 3d course or study, nothing at all!!! Now I run my own company ;-) and its running very good at the moment. Did not use Maxwell for clients yet. Deadline's are too tight.
Working with Lightwave3D.
Happy: yes!

From: Pittsburgh, PA
Family: married with 16 month old little girl/terror!
Worked with 3d: 1998 with 3d max 2.5 (YUK)
Worked with Photorealism: Still not really. But trying!
Why: Drafting and project management just about drove me into the ground. Needed less stress  Of course, there's still stress, but it's not as bad. I also am not very detail oriented, so being a detail drafter was not a good match. Project management was ok, but again, stress dealing with contractors and vendors and people in general. Now I can live in my own little 3d world and not have to deal with it too much.

Family: Married with an 8 month old and the wife is 2 months pregnant :P
Worked with 3d: Since 1999
Worked with Photorealism: From the moment I found out it was possable.
Why: In my 3rd year of Architecture school I realized that I liked the end product much more than I liked the process of getting there. I decided to learn as much about 3D Studio Max as was possible before I graduated since I could enjoy the end product of design almost instantly using 3D. After that I was hooked and began my quest to become the most powerful 3D guy in the universe!

Hi Micheal,
There are now *officially* two people in WDC that use Maxwell.
Did you know NL has an office on Pennsylvania Ave, NW?
When you do biz with the US Gov't, its a good place to be.

Family: girlfriend, mum, brother, sisters, daddy in heaven
Worked with 3D: if you mean software, i think deskartes since 1994 or so
Worked with Photorealism: i think lightscape was first software that did photorealism. It is hard to tell comparing to today`s photorealistic softwares
Why: because you can build your own world cheaper then in reality, because it is the best way to show your ideas to people around you, because it will be art of 21-st century, because if you trace light to the start, you will come to God

Name: Tim Ellis
Age: 31
From: North Yorkshire, UK
Family: Single
Worked with 3d: since October 2002
Worked with Photorealism: since maxwell first beta
Why: I wanted to put my own cars into GTA III. Found Blender 2.25 in 2002, self taught with tutorials & kind suggestions by people all over the world. Bought Maxwell after seeing the beta renders and it let me do what I couldn't achieve with Blender alone.

Name: Lars Bjorstrup
Age: 43
From: Hellerup, Copenhagen, Denmark
Family: Wife and two daughters (3 years and half a year old)
Worked with 3D: since around 2002 where I graduated as a 3d animator from Copenhagen Technical School. I am a 3d instructor and been teaching courses in 3ds max, Char. Studio, Combustion and more. Also have my own small 3d company. I previously studied computer science and have been working many years in software system development and software sales. Currently I work full time with quality assuarence, employed as a test specialist in a major bank in Denmark.
Worked with Photorealism: Not sure I ever did that :-) but I have been loving doing 3d ever since I started. Jumped on the Maxwell waggon around the beta period.
Why: I have always been creative ie. drawing, painting etc. Discovering 3d a few years back was just fantastic!!

From: now Bologna, Italy, but I lived in venice for too long because of university.
Family: back to parents after university (avoid it if you can!), living with 'em, brother and sister. since long time engaged with silvia.
Worked with 3D: since about 2000, if excluding a paint software for C64 when I was 8. completely self taught.
Worked with Photorealism: I'd say photoirrealism when speaking of my rare works.
Why: officially because I needed visualization for my architecture design and I was too lazy to keep going with handmade maquettes and models... more honestly because it is addictive. And also because sh**t happens! :) I mean sometimes, while fighting with my pc, with an unexpected crash or with a data loss, I wonder why I gave up with ski... :?
