i totally missed the release of the first proper benchmarks about 2 weeks ago, and only read about it yestarday.

it is really an epic fail, the cinebench score is terrifying.

It's a bad deal that AMD can't keep up. Competition is healthy. Last time I bought an AMD processor was the dual core 4200+ when they were competing with the Pentium D.

yes, very bad... intel now can do what they want - they already postponed Ivy Bridge to March and there will be no 6-core Ivy at the beginning... :?
A few months ago they stated to be 3 years ahead of AMD - and now it seems that this is true.

But this release of the long awaited all destroying Bulldozer is really a big joke! It had been better not to release it now.

Update with v2.5...

i don't know if it is possible that v1.7 is faster on AMD systems, but with v2.5 the results are looking more plausible now. ;)

thanks for posting!

still maxwell and bulldozer seem to like each other. almost equal to a 2600k.
i think this is due to the well mulithread-optimized code of maxwell and the good multithreaded performance of the amd chip.
the cinema 4d scores and the Rage VT benchmark show that bulldozer scales very well here.

if the 16-core opteron chips would be clocked higher, building a system would be interesting...
