Well nobody else is asked, I'm really needing a modo plugin, there are a lot of modo users who use modo entirely for arch viz, i'm not sure if luxology has released a complete enough SDK for this to be more than a pipe dream but all i have heard is rumour after rumour, my current workflow is a nightmare, and i dont have 3k to lash out and buy Maya at the moment, something official would be nice, yes/no, not at this stage but maybe later.

I WANT A VUE PLUGIN!!!!
sorry , wanted that since it was announced in alpha, when I bought Maxwell for hopefully rendering my Vue scenes one day, and only secondary for model tests in Rhino.
Sigh.
Vue + maxwell = killer! :)

Good argument jc4d.

But i also assume thats the argument Nextlimit follow.
It's not easy in this times.
The competition is hard.

Therefore a reasonable step to go for 2.0 and miss 1.8 and 1.9.
There is a crew whom need food.
Don't forget.

If i recall correct, there was 1.1, 1.5, 1.6 and 1.7 published for free available for custom user.

So, i understand that step.
But i hope Nextlimit will include major improvements in the following upgrade to make sure this is not just a money maker.

Martin

You are right Martin, we are all in the same boat with this crisis and the people need food and basic stuff to live, we have to see both sides of the coin :D

I just concern about the people who received free licenses as a gift (like me) but the waiting time and so on, of course is a little early to make any conclusion but, for example I have 8 licenses and 0 nodes, so in the upgrade I have to pay for the licenses that they gave me for free?
I´m not complaining or anything is just I have many things flying in my mind about this. I´m very happy with the product I been enyoining doing my work with Maxwell render, is an amazing tool.

Just hope the price is reasonable :D

Cheers
JC

...really an informative newsletter :?: :?

congrats to the award for realflow! - but the maxwell part...
"there will be a v2 some day - with new features!" ...ok thank you for the info

...but - will it be the next update? no 1.8, 1.9? is there any timeframe? 1 year? 2 years? :?

...and great - we'll be able to connect directly to the mxm gallery - hope this will fix all our render problems!

Asking for a releasedate is probably like asking out Jennifer Lopez on a date...

However, could you tell us roughly in which phase this release is / what timeframe we could see a release?

I guess nobody would tear NL apart if it takes longer in the end.
For me this is nteresting to know in terms of investing into new hardware/software and planning what to do and get first.

For example we are in need of modelling/texture software and more nodes on the farm.

I would be quite annoyed if I had convinced everyone we would best buy these lets say in the next 2 months and then suddenly the new maxwell pops up. So it would be nice to feel safe waiting and/or investing.

Well to me a note like this means that they want to throw atleast something out there and also NL will have anticipated a higher response to a newsletter than to a forum post saying "we are working very hard on a release we can't tell you about".

Questions like these are very likely to pop up after these news...but who knows perhaps they already chose not to say anything apart from what is said in the letter for the next 6 months, which would really make me think twice on waiting for 2.0.

We are excited about what has not been said. Which we don't know what will be.

Oh, human mind! :P
