is there any further support for this 1.7.1 version at all?

I heard something about an update for the cinema4d plugin?! ... would be cool since I continue to use this version.

Yes, a new version of the Cinema plugin for 1.x was released last week - I believe you need to contact customer service, and they will send you a link for the download.

do you know what has changed in this update (just majer impovements)...

or are there just minor improvements?! caus right know I'm getting along with mw well... so I'm not sure if I need the update...

It's a pretty good update -- texture offset is now interactive in the viewport, support for R11.5 was added, etc. -- all the details are here: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=33608&start=0
