What is the best/fastest way to attach geometry inside max? attaching a large number of objects is a painful and slow task...
When I export files to maxwell, i end up with hundreds of layers/objects and it is a pain to select all objects that share a material and merge them. Usually i never need to move objects inside studio, but it would be nice to be able to have max groups translated to maxwell groups, ... is this possible?

Hello,

you have attach by list in any edit poly or mesh modifier. You can select a list of object to attach. If they have the same material you also can select by material and apply collapse option in a single mesh from utilities panel.

COLLAPSE!!
excellent, never seen that in my life!
Ataching takes forever when there are many objects in the scene, usually running out of ram and crashing my scene.. collapse seems to be faster, true? does it reach the SAME result as the attach command?

Hi,

yes, it is the same but more directly. You don´t need apply a modifier like edit poly to attach your objects, it simply make an internal process and convert all mesh attached in an editable mesh object.
