Would someone who uses max here be kind enough to let me have a section of grass like thxraph's tutorial? I just cant seem the get my plane to scatter around properly.

First pick the object you want to scatter.
Pick distribution object. I usually create a plane for this.
Under "Scatter Objects" make sure "Use Distribution Object" is picked.
Set your number of duplicates low for testing purposes.
Under "Distribution Object Params" uncheck perpendicular!! Very important!
Transforms: Rotation y=30 works for me usually. Any more than that and you'll start to see flat planes.
Now go back and set the number of duplicates and fill up the area! That's it!

Good luck!

Also, uncheck the "show distribution object" or something like that, it 's somewhere in the display rollout, it looks better I think...
