I've got a problem with max plugin that I don't think has been mentioned before.

I've got a scene with a xref object (a tree). The xref object leads to a high-poly tree but in screen it shows a low-poly version of the same tree (a proxy).
If I hit render the low poly tree is changed by the high poly version just as it should and exports correctly to mxcl but, if I export the scene from File>export it bypasses changing the models and exports the scene with the low poly tree version.

Could this be corrected, please?

This is due to a limitation in the Max SDK. We've looked at it a while ago and if I recall correctly, it would be pretty hard to make it work. However, you can use the render globals dialog to set up a path for the MXS and "export" using the render command.

Wow, that's news to me. I didn't even know xrefs would render. Last time I tried was probably 1.5 or so and it didn't work then...
