Inspired by our resident Master Math Modeler and all around genus Torolf Sauermann, I have been playing. Not yet familiar enough with TopMod I built the basic mobius form for this object in Lightwave and took it into TopMod for some of the functions I am familiar with. Very quick renders in Maxwell to see whats what...having fun with this! But I have to figure out how to model these forms more efficiently. This one is over 11M polys! Lightwave ground to a crawl but Maxwell chugged right along.
Technically speaking this is a Mengerized subdivided wire frame Mobius manifold...i think, but could be wrong there.

My hat is off to you Torolf! Cheers, Ron

Powerful looking structure, and nice lighting. 11M polys is crazy, gotta have a 64bit modeler for that.
