I put out another release of MXC, which calculates render times, render sizes or SL based on the benchmark values or a test render of the scene.

Thanks go to Ernesto Lacalie and Francisco Di Prospero, who have developed the Visual Maxwell Render Calculator, which was the first useful tool to estimate Maxwell's render speed. Without this previous work I would have never started this thing.

Comments and Feedback welcome!

Kabe

Very helfpul, thank you. I was having problems projecting lines up on the visual one but it did give a good estimation.

Kabe,

Thank you for your effort on this little app ! ... it would be quite interesting to see what results it gives.

A couple of steps for a crash on the windows version:
  • On the speed tab type 16.32 for benchmark
  • on the calculate tab select "Render Time" radio button
  • Type 1254, 740 for image size
  • Crash

Thanks for the feedback... it seems that a string handling method works different on Windows than it does on the Mac. I'll look into it and will post a new release probably later this evening.

Sorry for the mess.

Kabe

P.S.: Has anybody tested the Linux version btw?

to answer your question:

yes it works, but only the size tab. regarding the speed tab I can type in every form and submit any input, but it doesn't matter, it doesn't give any feedback... but maybe I am doing something wrong... no crash tho...

have a look:
