There's a problem guys, sorry. But i removed them to not cause more trouble than it's worth to keep them posted here and on the MXM Gallery.

I worked some more on the humanskin shader, it's far from perfect and this has to be one of the most difficult materials i ever attempted creating. :/ not sure i can do this one realistic enough.

Max, I think it's still a little too pink and uniform. Keep going!

True that Bubba, i'll keep on finetuning it. But it's damn difficult to create, atleast i think so.. it's either to pinkish or to darkbrownish/greyish looking.

I recall seeing an interview with one of the guys from a major animation studio (can't remember which one) and he showed how they created realistic looking skin shaders. The shaders had about a dozen different layers; blood, veins, dermis, epidermis, etc. It was crazy complex. I honestly have doubts that it can be accomplished in Maxwell using one surface and a shader. It seems like it needs multiple layers of modeled surfaces with multiple shaders. Don't get discouraged though, if anyone can do it, it's you!

Hehe i know what you mean Bubba, skin is a multilayered surface with many subdermal layers of veins, fat and skincells that stack up to a full skin surface. It's what makes it a real bitch to reproduce with Maxwell. But i remember "Mahai" :D he made a pretty good looking darkskin shader not long ago. Wonder if he had more success with it since then..

Usually you don't model all the different surfacelayers of a skin, that would require a infinite amount of work hehe, but you have a complex shader like the one for mental ray that very nicely simulates all the layers of a human skin with different absorption and properties and maps for all layers. It's very powerful!

Btw Bubba, thanks! :)
