couldn't agree more!
I'm so looking forward to download those, even though I may never be able to use them for archviz and because my machine is too weak for heavy displacement ... ;)

Bubba: That's.. wow, thank you!  i don't know what to say besides what i already said. But i am honored and very thanksful.

4Hero: :) thanks man, you're too kind.

kami: Many thanks to you too kami, very kind of you. And as i have now uploaded them all to the MXM Gallery you can soon play with them and run testrenders and what not.. i'll compile a list with some tips and suggestions that should help users like you with not the most powerful hardware in the world to use these materials.

Enjoy them! :D

Last material uploaded to the MXM site was on Dec 28. What's going on? Somebody needs to nudge the MXM site guy, he fell asleep at his desk.

Tom: Hehe :D thanks man, but no one should feel forced to vote. That would be scary.. :)

tokiop:  thank you

Frosty: :) thank you and you're welcome, ..it's my pleasure to share it with you guys, maybe you can learn a couple of tricks and things from them.

Bubba: The MXM guy at NL maybe quit his or her job.. then we're toast! aaaaahh.. :D nah i'm sure they'll update it when they have time to recover from the new year hangovers.

While we wait here's a 3000pix render i ran during the night of the very shiny rusty iron material on the Luxhead scene.

Since the MXM Gallery has not been updated today i uploaded all materials to a filehosting site. If you want them now, go grab them! :)
There are 3 links below, but all of them offer the same file so you only have to download one. Let me know if they don't work and i will upload them again. Btw, it's 35,3mb.

You're welcome iker :D ..and many thanks for your nice comments and also for downloading it.

Brett: Thank you! i tried my best. Now the only real problem is to make my next materials better than this one.. ugh. :)

I know from my own tests that these materials are not that useful for any real renderings that most people do at home or at work, but they're hopefully useful for other people to learn from and to experiment with. Because of the high displacement precision value on almost all materials they're really slow to render even on a fast system. That's the sucky part, IF you wanna render these in a scene then you gotta tune down the displacement precision alot, to something like 64 or 32. That should render slightly faster with pretty good results even though you will loose finer displaced detail in the surface and the displacement will appear softer. It's still acceptable :) ..in worst case you can disable displacement completly.

I let Maxwell render a modified version of that cracked paint rusty iron material at 4000 pixels resolution during the night, just for testing. :) and it cooked for 14 hours and to my big surprise it came out quite clean. :) take a look at the fullres version below.
Displacement precision in this test: 512

[Edit] : I just noticed that my rust materials collection is being added to the MXM Gallery. :)

Wow. Those materials are so great! But the displacement is way too heavy for my machine :D (several hours for the voxelisation)
didn't make any adjustments to the model, so the mapping coordinates are totally messed up, but it looks nice anyway.

thank you so very much.
if i find the time i'll play around a little more with them and maybe on a more meaningful project ;)
