I think the renders are quite nice too. On my screen the orange is really distracting on almost every render. It seems most effective for the helicopter. The nylon-looking parts and hardware would look outstanding on a metallic floor! By the way, you absolutely nailed the milky translucency of the nylon.

thanks pleased you semi like them. As for the background colour i personally like it and yes lots might not like it like yourself. I have in time done the metal floor, wooden floor etc but now its time to move onto orange :)
