Hi!

We've got a number of render-servers that we are using for maxwell.
All the materials and MXS/MXI files are placed on one of those servers.

They are all running win xp 64 atm, and we got the problem that we can only access the server with all the materials and data with max number of 10 servers.

Tomorrow I'll order win server 2003 for the machine holding all the materials and MXS files, but I want to have a verification from Nextlimit that I wont run into any problems with installation of maxwell on a win 2003 server? And networkrendering when the os differs among the servers/manager.

Regards Patrik

We use a Win Server 2003 64 bit, but Maxwell is not installed there. Only on the nodes.

Yes we have some win 2003 servers here too, I just need to know that Win 2003 server is compatible with the latest maxwell.

Since Nextlimit dosnt want to answer, I guess they havnt tested that yet.
I guess I'll have to test it then :)

And if it dosnt work I'll just have to use it as a fileserver, not fileserver+manager+server

We got some nodes last week and I installed Maxwell on our two Win server 2003. At first I couldnt run MXCL. Then I inserted 3ds max2008-disc and started to install that. I got Microsoft framework 2 installed from the disc and then it crashed. But the funny thing is that after that MXCL worked.

For the second server: I just downloaded framework from MS site and MXCL works.

Still, those two servers with Intel Xeon 3.2ghz-cpus are nothing compared to our new two q6600-based computers.
