I really appreciate the vote of confidence but I know better  , some of your materials rank among the very best MXM's ever made

Best,
Jason.

You and Tea Bag both stand out as MXM guru's today, there are also few more skilled mxm artists on the forum. :)
Ow yes now i remember those old mxm's i made, some of them may still be known.. but i doubt they can be amongst the best ever.

i thought it was the intention to keep the "Tip of the day"-theard clean and respond to anything in this thread...
...or this is what i thought, when i saw these two threads.

btw. nice initiative Jason! Thanks! :D
i will post too, when someday i find something useful that i haven't learned in this forum

That was the intention, but certainly I'm not going to complain if people want to thank the contributors for their tips.

I'm actually interested in seeing old tips show up in that thread as well -- I think of it as a repository for MXM knowledge (old and new)... I was hoping for people to get involved and post their MXM findings, observations, and work-arounds all in one place for a comprehensive resource for the community. From my POV anything that falls outside the scope of the Maxwell manual is fair game for that thread.

We all have tricks that help us get the look we want -- but since we all work separately we can't build on what we have been learning individually... if we pool our resources we can accelerate the growth of all and the overall quality of Maxwell renders in general. I'm a firm believer that lack of understanding of the material system is the bottleneck of quality for Maxwell renders... if we can remove that bottleneck we can explore the true potential of Maxwell.

Best,
Jason.

Awesome Brodie! I look forward to it.

Yes, I do realize that 365 tips in one year are alot, but then again I imagine that Tom could deliver that by himself (if he had the time and inclination)... just think of how cool it would be if we had a forum full of Tom's posting even more inspiring works and discovering hidden nuggets.

Technology progresses when knowledge is shared -- when knowledge is kept isolated things stagnate or become inbred... not good either way.

Maxwell is capable of better and so should we be... so I take the challenge to be creative and push my boundaries -- and I am encouraged to see Brodie and David also accept the challenge.

I know they will be better Maxwell users as a result of it

Best,
Jason.

So I signed up for tomorrow's tip which should be tip #7. I'll do tip #8 as well to give half life a bit of a break :)
