Hello all

I have various problems when rendering in the network. maybe someone has helpful comments on that...

- I define a render region to render just a part of an image in studio. but when opening the result in maxwell the region is set to a much bigger area (while only the previously in studio defined spot shows the scene - rest of the (new) region is black. So resuming the render with the same region as set in studio is hard to do

- I set a SL of 27 for some difficult area in the scene and render only a region (for later comp). But opening the mxi shows a SL of 13.xx still with heavy artifacts. Resuming the render gives some error like "target SL is lower than current SL". The network monitor shows the job as finished with a SL of 27

- when a node for some reason is closed the manager still shows it on the job (but not in the nodes list). when node is restarted I cannot get it to resume the job it was processing before but I have to stop the whole job, close the manager restart it and start the job (resume will then work on all nodes)

Any comment much appreciated

Cheers
Rogurt

more problems :(

I resumed a job. Stopped it after 15min. Mxi got written properly. But channels object, material wont get updated (they still have the timestamp of the previous render).
Is that a correct behaviour?

With render region the SL displayed during rendering and after rendering (and a possible merge) are completely different. SL is always higher during rendering. Not sure if this is a bug or a technical limitation.

I also noticed that the timestamp often stays at the time when the image got written to disc for the first time even though it got saved at a newer time.

Thanks for the hint. Do you know if a job once started can be tweaked in redertime (not only the target SL)?

No, you have to remove the job and re-add it.
