Hi there

why is it that when I load a mxs from the maxwell\library\objects\lights (let´s say the 575w metal halide) the parameters of the material do not correspond at all? The power reads 1023,5 W. Should it not be 575w (with proper efficacy set of course)?
I get even more confused when clicking on the emitter presets tab in this mxm and choose 575w metal halide. Now power is 575w as I thought it would be in the first place while efficacy is exactly the same as before...

Reminds me of the fumbling with values in other biased render engines just to look good.
Thought maxwell would get me rid of that...

Cheers,
Rogurt

Those lights are really old -- and I doubt they have been looked at for a loooong time... always go with the real world values on real world scale geometry.

Best,
Jason.

Just change the watts setting in that case. You get a read-out below of what the total lumens output would be. I don't know why the models themselves import with higher watts setting, but the material presets in the material editor work ok.
