Very nice Andre !

... on thing ... can you check if the MXI background is on ?
(the groundplane seems darker than expected)

Also, could you check if multilight is off ? (it should be off)

(P.S. Only the MXM file is enough and the material texture.... MXS is not needed)

Hi Andre,

Please do not adjust the intensities arbitrarily. It is important to use the original values.

Any idea why it was set to zero ? Are you on OS X ?

I´m on XP.
Sky options are getting lost after "save as" and "reload" mxs files...

Naah, I wouldn't touch the illumination values, looks like a monitor calibration issue. I've added the thumbnail - I'll recalibrate me monitor and repost the images with the correct gamma values :)

Thank you Aitraaz ! I added your image as well ... but I trust you didn't chabge the original burn/gamma values. Right ?

I'll toss in one more of mine from yesterday, this is kinda looking a bit like
laquered brass or whatever it's called :D i don't know..

I know it ain't looking like much but i include a rendered preview of the
material so it's easier to see it in a rendered situation.

And the rendered example..

MXM File: http://rapidshare.de/files/27664139/Laquered_Brass_MXM.mxm.html

And a link to the original thread which shows the material setup + textures used.

You're a machine mate! Though mate all materials are searching for unsupplied maps.

All thanks from OZ!

I'm glad someone liked it, thanks Richard :) i know about the problem with missing textures as those i used were part of a old commercial pack. But you can just replace those with any type of similar textures as you can see in the thread i linked to where i provide screenshots of the textures i used to build the brass material with. What they add to the surface is just subtle differences, but that makes them even more important if you want that extra touch of realism. :)

More surfaces to come soon again.. :) just gotta whip something cool together by using free textures so you guys can get them too along with the material itself.

Cheers from Sweden :)

Edit: this is how it looks with the new emitter ribbon at SL16.

fernando,

What would it look like if you reduced the intensity of that ribbon emitter ?
It seems a bit strong (I will have to update ... what do you think should be a good standard wattage ?).

Mate I wonder if two emitter options that can be dragged onto the geometry might be a better option - just a thought.
