mmm... giudecca, the penguin island as they call it... I was leaving in castello, quite close to the arsenale, accumulating wetness for too long... :)

well I must say I'm a little surprised at the average age, I though it would be a lot lower (that's not a reflextion on maturity levels LOL)

Acutally, I find that most (NOT ALL) younger adults don't want to work hard enough to achieve photorealism - so the age does not surprise me as much. No attacks please - well, maybe a few are OK.... I said NOT ALL.

Just think of how many hours we have all put in trying to perfect our art with Maxwell. And this doesn't account for the time used to create and design our subject matter !

I think we're either detail-oriented from birth or not. I always got high marks for paying attention to detail and following direction (and good citizenship  ). Since grade 1. :D

I mean, look at Zuliban - what is he, 12? (j/k, I think he's 20 by now). :P

Good point Francis.

I call that "the desease". It makes for great achievements, but also takes it toll on life at times.

plus maxwell would have to be an easier path for realism than using other rendering engines no?

J Man,

Well, in theory, but i think most of us have been racking our brains harder with maxwell than other 3D apps. The lighting is of course always correct, but materials.....

OK, yes, MW gets us closer to easy i have to admit.

From: Bogotá (Colombia), living and working in Fort Lauderdale (USA)
Family: married with two children Nicolas 9 Sara 7
Worked with 3d: since 1984 Atari MS-Basic, serious real thing 1989 Topas v1.0
Worked with Photorealism: since 1990 with 3D studio v 2.0 (don't recall correctly) see image Later my friend David Rossmann (daros) arrived and he illuminates my mind with Lightwave, Lightscape and it's still like that since then.
Why: Because I like it, I enjoy the stuff. I became totally hypnotized with computers as a tool drawing architecture plans with Prodesign II and Autocad v 2.15, of course the big thing was the pen-plotting time! imagine a render... maybe is a gene from the caveman...

Name: Eric MacArthur

Age: 36

From: Northern Va.

Worked with 3d: Since August of 2000

Worked with Photorealism: In my head for years and years but in a presentable form since I wandered over to the MaxwellRender/Forum

Why: I have a harsh outlook of myself and on the things that occur around me yet hope and belief in the potential of us all. A quote from Gandhi has very much affected my life: "If you want to change the world start with yourself." I have a whole of sorts in my life concerning stories/movies that show a world that I want to live in. I'm just trying to bring that world in my mind into this one and see how others see it. CG seems the perfect medium. It’s a slow process that may never bear fruit as I have a lot going on in my life but I enjoy having something to do in my spare time.
