There is a great little plugin for LW called TB's Dirt Shader. It lays a user defined darkened area into nooks and crannies on an object over the texture map. Heres an example: The top image is clean and the bottom has the Dirt shader applied.

Is there some way to do this in Maxwell, other than painting a UV map...I have had poor success doing that.

Thanks much,
Ron

P.S. When is the 1.5 plugin update for LW going to be posted?

Why not baking just the color channel? Given the current plugin status, you'll have either to use the previous version of wait for the next one, but it's the best way to use procedurals, etc. into Maxwell.
