Ciao a tutti,

since i installed 1.5 (64bit) version, i'm not able to run Maxwell Studio, while mxed and mxcl work perfectly.

when i run mxst.exe, it crashes after spalsh screen.
this is the error message:

AppName: mxst.exe
AppVer: 0.0.0.0
ModName: atio6agl.dll
ModVer: 6.14.10.5648
Offset: 00000000004bf2b3

my O.S. is Win xp 64.
i searched in forums, but no one had this problem.

thanks

i already have all latest upadates/patches in drivers and O.S.

i think you are right about graphic card problem (ATIo6agl.dll ... and i have ATI fire GL V7200)..
i tried all settings in video card to solve this problem, but there's no way out. always same error.

is there a way to launch maxwell studio using "safety" card settings in 3d workspace?

tx

Did you have this error before you upgraded your graphicscard driver ? if not why don't you try downgrading your driver a step or two and see if that increases stability and fixes these problems. Sometimes it helps to downgrade as the very latest drivers aren't always the best to use.

no, i had this problem upgrading version of maxwell from 1.1 to 1.5(64bit).
Maxwell studio 1.1 worked perfectly, 1.5 can't start.

btw i already tried downgrading drivers, with no results :?

Please try changing the following registry value from "true" to "false" and restart studio.

Location:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Next Limit Technologies\Maxwell Render\OpenGL

String:
vbosEnabled "true"

hi Tom,

i search in all: "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Next Limit Technologies\Maxwell Render\....." registry path, but there is not the OpenGl folder, and that string in not contained in other sub-dirs of "...\Next Limit Technologies\..."

i attach a cropped image to show my registry tree.

I'm glad it worked Luca. :D
Now with the values you have by the file I've sent, VertexBuffers and Transparency are disabled for OpenGL. You can change them from Studio preferences to find out which one really makes it crash and rescue with the same registry patch when something went wrong. ;)
