I've got it! :D :D :D

for those still waiting:

Madrid, Spain, November 22, 2007 – Next Limit Technologies is proud to announce the release of an update for our revolutionary rendering software: Maxwell Render version 1.6. Extensively tested, we are confident that this update will be well-received by Maxwell Render users around the world.

Version 1.6 – available today for existing customers – brings new features and improvements, including the much-anticipated Maxwell Displacement, instances, multithreading voxelization, enhanced plug-ins, network improvements and much, much more.

Maxwell Render 1.6 also includes a free pack of Dosch Design HDR images, exclusively for Maxwell Render license holders. This HDRI pack will be made available for download soon after the 1.6 release, and all customers will be notified by email.

To streamline the main software downloads, the Arroway Textures that were previously included in the installer have been moved to the customer download site. Any customer who uses these Arroway Textures simply has to download them separately and copy them to the Maxwell Render folder \materialsdatabase\textures\arroway.

20 minutes.... stretching to infinity....

Thanks Nextlimit!

one question while it's downloading:

for 64bit systems: is the 64bit version now at least as fast as the 32bit version?

I recommend you also download the 1.6 highlights zip, it contains a pdf with more info about the release. Should answer the first wave of questions :)
