Can't you see the images? Works ok for me. Tell me if you have any problem...

Another improtant thing to avoid in 1 layer clipmaps:

Don't use JPG or any other format with high compression, some pixels could change from 255,255,255 to similar colors and won't be clipped.
I allways use png instead of jpg. Great quality without very big file sizes

Has anything changed with the technique in 1.6?

I seemed to remember getting this to work before, now my white background is not transparent. I have image with 255 white background in reflectance and transmittance, ND1 in attenuation. What am I missing?

object renders just like preview with no transparency.

Make sure the transmittance texture is made of pure white and black pixels.

I did check that. I will try with converting image to greyscale or b&w.
