After seeing the responses in the other thread, I think an online course would be interesting for a lot more people so this is what I'm organizing:

Online course using GoTomeeting which allows the following functionality:

- Voice and chat for all participants
- See what I'm doing on my screen and you can also take control of my keyboard and mouse.
- I can also connect to each participant and control Maxwell Studio or MXCL on their computers.
- Recording of training sessions so you can go back and review at your own pace.
- PC/Mac compatible

You will need a microphone and speakers. A moderate internet connection would be sufficient.

Classes will be 5 people only
, I think this will make the training more efficient.

Scheduling:

5 days, 4hours/day with a break after two hours. In total the course will be 20 hours. This may seem a lot per day but time will go by quickly. This is not set in stone, it depends what most of the participants prefer. If you prefer less time each day we could do that.

Course plan:
LINK

Date:
I would like to start next week, Thursday. So the course will run from Dec 4th (Thursday) to Dec 8th (Monday). If it's a problem doing two days over the weekend I can change the date.

Price:
€400/person

Signing up:
Please contact me at mihai@nextlimit.com and I will send you details.

Other info:
If you do not own a copy of Maxwell you can download the demo from the maxwellrender.com site. The demo is limited in render resolution (800x600) and has a watermark. These limitations will not have an impact on the training.

I see you are in "Uzbjeckiazutjenikitzistan".
But I live in USA (ET).
What it the time difference between "Uzbjeckiazutjenikitzistan" and USA's ET? :-)

Thanks, Gio

I am very interested in this training, but the weekend would not work for me, is their any other date options, or is this class filled up already?

Thanks

No it's not filled up yet, I may postpone it until Monday, 8th. Not sure yet. I'm working on making a scheduling system so you can pick specific sessions you want to learn.

Hi Mihai
I'd also be interested in an online course, but your program seems very general. You've put all of Maxwell Render into one course. Why not split it up into several smaller courses?
In my opinion, there is too much mixture between beginner and advanced knowledge. Or put differently: there are too many parts where I think I already know enough and fear that I may be bored. And there are other parts where I'll learn so much new stuff, that I might not be able to follow.
Besides that, it may not be necessary to explain studio, if a lot of users only work with the plugins, like I do.
Just my few thoughts ...
Greets,
kami

Sorry meant to respond to this but was busy.

I've looked through the course plan and the content looks OK but I have to say that extending the time to 5 days - consecutive - is a killer. I seriously doubt many 9any?) professional designers could devote 4 hrs a day for 5 days.

I mentioned the Think3 online seminar system. I still maintain that that system is the best I have used for end user convenience. Now what Think3 do is include all the training you need in the subs cost so you can dip in and attend as many or as few as you need. Obviously this model will not work when you do a pay per use training.

So where does that leave us?

1. Nextlimit set up some kind of online training network whereby the user pays a fee and they can attend whatever modules they desire up to the value of the fee - and - reattend one for free. Seminars should be 2 hrs MAX. Supporting files available for download to registered users.

2. NextLimit produce some quality video based training that users can purchase and view off line - look at Luxology (modo) for examples of state of the art for this.

Yes, I'm doing now an online system where you can book the segment(s) you want, and each segment is two hours. In the end if this system works ok it could be extended and NL could offer such a service on their site, also with more trainers envolved. For now, this is something I'm doing on my own but I'm hoping it can become something regular and more trainers can join in.

Hello Mihai and everyone

I'd be ineterested to do some/all of this course, allthough I prefer to work in OS X so dont have access to GtM, I have used it before and it works great (last time I looked it was windows only?), I could boot into XP and do it that way of course.

The only way I think I could do this would be offline - movie, or document based. This is due to having 2 jobs and a 14month old son ! (and therefore virtually no free time!) I'd beinterested in future courses and would try to join in

would love to develop my MXWR skills tho.

thanks

David :)

Gotomeeting works on OSX now as well. I have almost finished making the pages to book individual 2 hour segments of this full course. I'll make a post in this forum when it's ready :)
