Heya,

Smooth mesh preview worked well when rendering with Maxwell 1.x. However I can't get it to work with 2.0. Am I doing something wrong ? Basic cube > 3 to smooth mesh > render with MwR 2.0 > Still a cube.

The new plug-in uses a different way of requesting the geometry from Maya which apparently ignores smoothing. We'll try to fix it for the next build.

bumping my own post, hoping this has not been forgotten as the latest Maya plugin still doesn't support smooth mesh preview

ya, this is one of my main gripes with Maxwell's Maya implementation. Vray for Maya isn't nearly as well implemented as Maxwell is but it does viewport subdivision

Smoothing will work correctly in the next plug-in update. It also used to work with the 1.x plug-in, as br1 said in the first post.
