I've never done an interior render before, doing some test with some shots of my apt. I currently don't have anything else modeled besides this stuff, so that's why it's so focused on this little area :) Anyways I'll be updating with different test along the way. Here's the first one:

B&W?... they're good ones.

..and the render is too! .. waiting for more

(maybe a bit much vignetting..)

Yep definitely B&W's :P These specific ones sadly aren't in my apt, I have the 685's. I like the design of this line better though :) I think i agree with the vignetting being too strong...The post work in general is probably a bit too strong...I'll get that ironed out as I go along.

had some time to get back on this. Just doing some more material tests, here's the wood floor. thinking the bump is maybe a bit too high?

The reflections (wall and floor) look perfect.

The floor is hyper-realistic. But the wall is even better!

Please keep going.

I think I agree. I've been going back and forth about it but was not really sure. Even though I put a slight uneveness to the wall, I did not put a bump texture in the paint which wouldve been created by the roller. I'll try adding that in and ithink it will tone down the shininess of th wall to a more realistic level. If that doesn't work, I'll tone down my gloss layer also.

As a side note, I think I am going to upload the floor material to th mxm gallery for you guys to use. It's very high res (7000x7000) and covers a 15 foot apcae before tiling

It depends on the type of paint. Gloss, semi-gloss, flat, etc... Your result definitely falls into the range of realistic paints. I also think a small bump (very subtle) would look good.

The floor looks great!!
May I ask where you got that texture? I have been looking for realistic looking floors like that.
