Hi all
I´ve done it a thousand times in c4d: selecting some polys of an object, setting a selection (polyselection tag is created) and then applying a material only to that selection. With maxwell (plugin) it wont work! Well it works 1 time out of 20 - and I cannot reproduce the failure properly. Seems like random...
I read an old post from 2007 "Selection Sets" but that did not help me.

Checking the scene in studio I clearly see that one time selection sets get exported and the other time it wont :-(
Any helpful thoughts on that?

Cheers
Rogurt

P.S. drag and drop on selections only work with c4d proprietary materials - I did selection setting an naming by hand (double checking)

more testing:
- putting a green c4d material on the selection, rendering with fire -> green material shows on the selected area
- dragging a red mxm material (out of the c4d material pane) onto the above material tag -> open gl viewport shows red change on selection -> fire shows whole grey object

seems like it has something to do with the usage of light emitting and non emitting mxm materials on one object.
can anyone confirm this?

Yes, Maxwell does not support emitter materials on selections. In your console, you should find warnings to this effect, indicating which selections were not allowed, and why.
