With Maxwell 2.6 coming out, and being able to render strand particles, will this effect the outcome of the Blender exporter to include stand rendering?

I would assume only if more people commit to donating some funds, based on what he's said so far. ( viewtopic.php?p=343301#p343301 )

Best,
Jason.

I'm back and married ;)

Now, I can involve interested people in testing...

I need testing scenes:
you can both link them here or pm me if you can't make it public.

I'll convert directly from Blender and show a render from the active camera you set-up.
If you pm I will pm you with the render.

On request I can send the exported scene.

As I wrote (and now unfortunately, edited), what has been done?

all kind of geometry
groups
material assignement
multiple Uv channel
cameras

As extra we get:
- environment!, passing "Constant Dome" setup
- some Render parameters
- possibility to pass and link pre-existent material: just name in blender your material "material.mxm" and exporter will search for a maxwell material (with the same name) in .blend dir (and subdirs) and in maxwell root (MAXWELL2_ROOT
)

For the future is planned a total integration with Blender (customized Blender interface, lauch render inside Blender and retrieve image inside Blender ) but it depends on public response.

Ciao,
Ricky

Hello there,

Great news!! Here is my public response WooooHOOO!!!!!

One question. As far as future "total" integration as you mentioned is concerned. Now that Maxwell supports hair/ fir and particle rendering. Is this something that would be included in the fully integrated plug-in too.

Most of my scenes have strand particle systems set up in them.

Im sooooo looking foward to try this exporter!!! id love to help you with testing, dont know if you have a beta already...

Im an architect and i use a huge maxwell material library for material testing, therefore im very interested in having a complete integration of maxwell with blender specialy having the possibility of opening the material library for drag and dropping materials.

For the record, i would also be happy with donation for the developer ;)

I can send you a couple of scenes. Do you have a specific email address I can use?

Aaron

got it. I sent you some stuff. Let me know if any textures are missing. By the way, I am using Blender 2.6a and Maxwell 2.6.

I downloaded it. It is in very early beta. I still can not get it to export anything to Maxwell. I can get the material editor to open up. But that is it.
