Maxwell Render version 2 is a major new version and is not included in the free minor updates version 1.x license holders used to receive: it is a paid-for upgrade. Upgrades are not available from our online shop – they can only be bought through the Customer Gateway. If you are an existing client, please log-in and go to the upgrade area. It is also possible to purchase the upgrade through one of our authorized resellers. Find your nearest reseller through our Reseller Locator.

Customers are allowed to upgrade as many or as few of their Maxwell Render version 1.x licenses as they wish, or to upgrade version 1.x Standard licenses to version 2 Render Node licenses, provided they upgrade at least one version 1.x Standard license to a version 2 Standard license.

Any educational license holder who can prove they are still in education will be able to purchase an upgrade to version 2. We request they fill out the application form and send it to the Next Limit sales team, together with a copy of the current student/ faculty photo ID and a copy of any other type of photo ID to prove that they are still in education.
