Improvements and fixes:
- Overall fine-tuning of user-interface design and behavior.
- Scene Materials Browser and MXM Browser moved from Material Manager tabs into standalone windows.
- Scene Manager, Scene Materials Browser, and MXM Browser may be displayed either as standalone windows, or as dockbars similar to Rhino's Object Properties and Layers windows. When used as standalone, these windows may be 'rolled-up' by double-clicking their title bars.
- New Camera 'LCD Back-Panel' window provides convenient access to the most common Maxwell Camera properties.
- New visual file-browser dialog shows previews of map files, including MXI and HDR maps.
- Added InfoTip help for all Material Editor parameters.
- New Camera 'Heads-Up Display' viewport overlay:
This overlay visually shows the Maxwell Camera’s film sensor, in relation to its associated Rhino viewport. This includes the ability to show any film size and lens-shift offset. Additionally, when a Camera uses the ‘Manual’ resolution mode (vs. the automatic ‘Viewport’ mode) the actual image-output dimensions are not tied in any way to the physical pixel-size or aspect ratio of the Rhino viewport. This allows viewports to be resized without affecting the rendered output:
- New Auto-Exposure mode. When enabled, given a certain film ISO, this mode allows for making adjustments to the Camera's fStop without affecting the exposure. As the Camera's fStop is adjusted, the Shutter value will be figured to maintain a consistent exposure.
- New Auto-Focus function. This command takes an object selection, analyzes the near/far distances for those objects, and using this information, adjusts the Camera's focal-distance and fStop as necessary.
- Improved support for Rhino Named Views.
- Version 1.6.1 added support for Maxwell’s Motion Blur feature, but for linear object-movement only. This version adds support for full-range motion.
- Improved Real Scale support. The use of Real Scale textures no longer requires any explicit projector to be defined.
- Version 1.6.1 introduced a much faster MXS-export routine. With speed came less tolerance for faulty meshes – this has been added again in 1.6.5. The plug-in also offers a new command, 'Maxwell_CheckFixAndReportBadGeometry', which will scan the scene, fixing some types of problems, and reporting what was or wasn’t fixed.
- Added 'MXS Auto-Naming' and 'Image Auto-Naming' user-preferences. When enabled, MXS and image output will not overwrite any previous output – instead the filename will be renamed using incrementing numbers.
