Please note that Maxwell Render 1.6.1 is needed to use instances in Skp2MXS 2.0 due to limitations in Maxwell Render 1.6.0. Please download the 1.6.1 update from the website if you do not have it yet. Geometry export changes:
- Geometry export rewritten for higher speed and significantly reduced memory requirements.
- Support for exporting components after the Maxwell instances feature was added. Please consult the plug-in documentation for details and limitations.
- Support for groups was added. Groups are exported as Maxwell groups for easier manipulation in Maxwell Studio.
- Support for group hierarchies was added.
- Interface for different geometry options in export panel was added.
Material changes:
- Conversion of SketchUp transparent materials with no Maxwell Render properties was greatly improved – an AGS material is used in this case.
- The Maxwell Material panel was simplified. Plastic, metal and emissive materials are supported now. Plastic and metal materials use AGS if SketchUp transparency is enabled. The appearance of plastic materials is controlled using a shininess parameter; the appearance of metal materials is controlled using a roughness parameter.
Other changes:
- Support for additional object properties was added (hide to reflections, hide to GI)
- Panel for object properties rewritten (uses HTML now, like all other panels)
- Material panel observer works as a toggle. There is now a special Ruby code to handle this in both the menu and toolbar.
- SketchUp 5 installation added to Win installation package.
- SketchUp 6 and SketchUp 5 manuals updated.
Fixes:
- Roughness for individual layers in plastic material was swapped.
- Wrong names of groups in hierarchies are no longer used - fixed.
- Win installation was fixed (no longer registering the DLL as it caused problems).
- Tab order in export options panel was fixed.
- Separate entities with emitter materials in individual objects now works properly in groups.
- Units are taken into account properly for z-clip and focal distance.
- Z-clip planes display values in SketchUp units.
- The material panel now handles numerical entries properly. The last digit of the number was lost if the user did not click inside the panel (or if the Tab key was not used).
