Version 2.0.24 Release Notes

  • Added a texture preview window.
  • Added support for visualizing IES emitter patterns in the viewport (3dsMax version 9 and up).
  • Added support for the "use alpha" texture flag.
  • Layers containing only an emitter (no BSDFs) use the emitter color in the viewport.
  • Added attenuation unit support for BSDFs.
  • When a texture has "show map in viewport" checked, it uses the correct UV channel. Note that it is not possible to correctly display materials using multiple UV channels in blended mode in the viewport.
  • The UV channel control in the Maxwell Render bitmap starts at 1 instead of 0, to match the conventions used in 3dsMax.
  • Fixed: crash when switching to mental ray.
  • Fixed: crash when replacing a Maxwell material with a different kind of material.
  • Fixed: the backface culling setting was being ignored for objects with Maxwell materials applied.
  • Fixed: crash when trying to render a scene containing a referenced material with a missing MXM.
  • Fixed: non-renderable curves were rendered.
  • Fixed: IBL lighting and reflections were too bright in the high quality viewport.
  • Fixed: layers with no (enabled) BSDFs drew garbage in the viewport.
  • Fixed: diffuse lighting was completely wrong in the high quality viewport (direction, shape etc.).
